Arizona

Arizona is a state in the southwestern region of the United States. It is also part of the Western and the Mountain states. Phoenix is Arizona’s capital but also the largest capital city in the US. It is the 6th largest and the 14th most populous of the 50 states. The state's name appears to originate from an earlier Spanish name, "Arizonac", derived from the O'odham name alĭ ṣonak, meaning "small spring". Arizona’s governor is Doublas Doucey.

Arizona's climate is arid and semi-arid, the average high temperatures are in the mild 41°F to 68°F range, while the average low temperatures are in cold 17°F to 41°F. Southern Arizona rarely receives light snowfall, while the northern mountainous areas receive ample snow. Well known for deserts like the Grand Canyon, Arizona's terrain also includes mesa and mountains; consequently, the state has a wide diversity of vegetation. Arizona's fauna range from desert species of lizards and snakes to the deer, elk, and antelope of the northern highlands. The mountain lion, jaguar, coyote, and black and brown bear are also found in the state.

The culture in Arizona is very unique in that it combines the outdoors beauty, the native American and Hispanic cultures with a southwestern touch. The locals are very much into hiking, biking, camping, golf and anything that involves being outside.
